Siskon Automation SCADA Applications
Siskon Automation has been developing HMI and SCADA software solutions since 2001. The company is the Türkiye representative and distributor of Copa-Data's SCADA software solutions. Siskon Automation has successfully delivered numerous projects in Türkiye using the Zenon SCADA platform developed by Copa-Data. In addition, through its own SCADA software developed in C#, the company can provide more flexible and customer-oriented solutions whenever required. Depending on project requirements, Siskon Automation is also capable of implementing solutions using other SCADA platforms.
In line with customer requirements, Siskon Automation implemented an automation solution for a fully automated beer production facility using the Genesis Iconics SCADA platform. Furthermore, with its in-house SCADA software developed in C#, the company has completed automation projects for numerous tobacco machinery systems, painting machines, pharmaceutical production facilities, and textile machines. In the brewery automation application, the entire system can be monitored and controlled simultaneously from a central computer through Genesis Iconics SCADA. The Siemens S7-415 PLC communicates with the Genesis Iconics SCADA system via the Siemens OPC Server using the Profibus protocol. Data collected from production lines is stored in a Microsoft Access database. Once process parameters are configured on the central computer, the system operates fully automatically. Authorized users are also provided with the ability to manually intervene in the system whenever modifications are required. Target tank temperatures can be adjusted from the central computer, and all reports can be displayed in tabular or graphical formats.
In another application, monitoring machine connections, alarm management, and compliance visualization for tobacco machinery were achieved using a SCADA system developed in C# together with Beckhoff PLCs. Communication between the Beckhoff OPC Server, SCADA system, and PLCs is performed via the Ethernet protocol. SQL Server was used as the database platform. In addition, the software developed in C# enables system monitoring across the entire intranet without requiring the installation of additional programs, while authorized users are allowed to manage and control the system remotely.
For textile machine projects, all machine connections and components were visualized within the C#-based SCADA application, offering comprehensive monitoring and control capabilities. Initially designed using Monitrol MII operator panels and RIO input/output units, the textile machine SCADA system was later modernized with touchscreen Siskon IPC industrial computers, Beckhoff PLCs, and a new, more advanced visual SCADA interface.
Relying on the high performance of Siskon touchscreen industrial computers, critical systems such as pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities have also been controlled using these industrial computers, Beckhoff PLCs, and custom-developed C# SCADA software. All collected data is securely stored within SQL databases to ensure maximum reliability and data security.
The PLCs, SCADA platforms, and database systems used in each project are selected entirely according to customer requirements. Solutions can also be implemented using different PLC brands and SCADA software packages depending on project needs. The use of SQL databases further supports future expansion and development opportunities.
Although Siskon Automation generally utilizes Beckhoff PLCs, Zenon SCADA, SQL Server databases, and TwinCAT OPC Server technologies in its automation projects, the company also develops turnkey solutions using alternative PLCs, custom C#-based SCADA systems, and Access or Oracle databases according to customer demands, as demonstrated in the examples above.
