Our Open Innovation Platform: İNCİ RADAR
How Does the Process Work?
The Open Innovation Platform, İnci Radar, was launched in 2023 with the goal of expanding our companies’ entrepreneurship activities across national and international platforms and identifying solutions to the innovation needs of group companies through collaboration with the startup ecosystem. Since its launch, the platform has achieved successful results through the process framework illustrated alongside.
In order to identify the innovation needs of the Group companies for 2023, extensive collaboration was carried out with designated contacts from the Operational Excellence (OPEX), Innovation, and Engineering departments across the Group.
As a result of scouting and bridging activities conducted in line with the identified needs, startups were selected based on their commitment to creating maximum value through sustainable and responsible investments while adhering to ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) criteria.
Some of our successful implementation examples include:
1) Through the collaboration between İnci GS Yuasa and REPG Enerji, efforts are continuing on a project that generates electricity through the recovery of waste heat within the factory. The project aims to achieve annual energy savings exceeding 189,000 kWh.
2) Through the collaboration between Yusen Logistics and Siskon, an automated labeling machine project was developed. The automation solution has helped prevent human errors and delivered labor cost savings equivalent to approximately 27 personnel, thanks to increased operational speed and efficiency.
3) Through the collaboration between Maxion Aluminum and İztek Inc., an R&D project was launched to recover metal from pressed slag and reduce metal losses. By recovering approximately 30% of the aluminum contained in slag, the project is expected to prevent nearly 80 tons of metal loss.
